Crazy Crunch- an attempt at a more original parody

Posted by Ernestpcosby on 7 May 2017 in English (English)

I've been trying to be more original with my parodies lately, to try and make them have a humorous reference quality to them but still feel somewhat fitting for the OGF world.

One thing I've tried is making references to things that don't exactly relate to the object doing the referencing.

One such example is Crazy Crunch, a popular cereal in Freedemia.

You might get the reference from the box.

If you don't you'll definitely get it from the jingle.

The faces on the box make me feel uncomfortable

And I don't get it

Sorry, but the images look quite fake.

'm not sure the joke will catch on if it's purely of a regional or national importance. Remember-OGF is a global community. I'd also consider revising the techniques you use for graphic design. I've used rudimentary applications consisting of paint, Microsoft Word and paint.net to create almost all the pictures on the Glaster and [the Agarderia]((http://wiki.opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/Category:Agarderia) category. I'd suggest drawing inspiration through existing products, incorporating better clipart into your pictures and diversifying the techniques you use.

I was more just talking about the joke guys, not the design. The image was meant to be a rough version as part of the joke/reference. It was only meant to get the idea across.

I'm not even sure what the joke is.

Like you said it was probably more of an America thing. I had thought the show had been broadcasted internationally, but apparently not. You probably won't get it.

It's a reference to the show the Brady Bunch, with the main hint being the words to the jingle from the wiki page

@Udi I was trying to make it close enough to be a loose reference but far enough that it wouldn't feel like copying. I went with Crazy Crunch because one could look at it in world and not be messing with copyrights or be an obvious reference to something outside, but be a subtle reference that one might see from the outside and laugh at/notice. It was actually sort of a deliberate attempt to move away from super obvious copy-ish references. But I get where you're coming from. It probably would have been a clearer reference if it had been closer to the original.

Hahaha, "Kell Mills" kind of a mix between Kellogg's and General Mills
