Kurzov Special Bliki Log #001 (November 30th, 2017)

Posted by Katav on 30 November 2017 in English (English)

Kurzov's use of cancelled:()=yes

I use the key-value combination cancelled:()=yes (alternatively, I also use highway=cancelled and cancelled=()) for roads or other features that were planned but never built due to environmental petition, community action, lack of funding, etc, etc...

For example, the Sakatia Ring Road (also referred to as the SRR, pronounced 'serr') in Sakatia, Levarrie was planned to be a full trunk road all the way around the Sakatia metro area, but was either never envisioned or cancelled before the road's building, leaving Sakatians with a non-grade separated but divided highway through the south side of the downtown area, and a grade-separated partial bypass on the rest of the Ring Road.

For the cancelled "Colosseum Extension" of the SRR, I used the tags,

  • highway=cancelled
  • cancelled=trunk
  • cancelled:name=Sakatia Ring Road
  • start_date=1994
  • end_date=1997

Please tell me what you think. Or something like that. I dunno.

(edit: thanks markdown, I had to use "()" in place of an asterisk)

OpenGeoFiction Discord server?

Posted by Katav on 25 October 2017 in English (English)

We have an IRC channel. I know that much. However... IRC is on its way out, and I was wondering if there was another communication platform that we already use - e.g. Discord, Slack, etc.

Does such a thing already exist outside of the IRC channel?

Fressland, Norkolnia, Touhou, and a farewell... for now.

Posted by Katav on 1 June 2017 in English (English)

Well, it's been a long while since I've touched Fressland, and although there was a small batch of edits in May, it's time to give up Fressland for good. I will no longer be editing Fressland, and I'm opening it up for a new mapper to continue.

Farewell, Fressland...

FiNAL NOTE... Kurzov.

PS: I'm going to be returning to the country that I edited only once or twice, and has since expired. Its new name? Drakonia.

The First Rescaling Project: Operation Chireiden is now underway!

Posted by Katav on 24 May 2017 in English (English)

Under the project name "Operation Chireiden", I'm currently rescaling and reconstructing the whole of Fressland's capital city, Konkordia. Expect major mapping changes to Downtown Konkordia within the next few weeks.

On Norkolnia

Posted by Katav on 21 May 2017 in English (English)

Well, it's been a long time, OpenGeoFiction, since I was last here. I've decided to split off the northern half of my northernmost territory into a new country: "Norkolnia"... Mainly because I never edit there. It has no OGF-specific tags (the internal OGF code, the actual name that OGF picks up, those things) at the moment, just the boundaries and the relation.

Weirdness with Fressland

Posted by Katav on 10 December 2016 in English (English)

For some reason, the territory map and list show Fressland as "taken" by me or whatever it's called, but on the border way, it shows as "ogf:owner = admin" and "ogf:status = free". Is it available or "taken"?

Thanks

Release date?

Any confirmed release date for the new continents?

Commonia stuff, part 2

I am taking the old ramps that Ūdilugbulgidħū removed highways from and added placeholder towns to them.

Also, my keyboard is not happy today 😞

Question about iD

Posted by Katav on 16 April 2016 in English (English)

Does anybody know why this site is still on iD 1.3.6?

Thanks, Katav

Chromebooks and OGF

Posted by Katav on 9 December 2015 in English (English)

Sometimes in OGF, when I go to the editing menu (the edit page) in the iD editor, all the icons go missing and your cursor gets hidden. This also happens to me in OSM. Does anybody know why?
