Can someone advise population estimate of Manchester?

Posted by No Way on 17 May 2017 in English (English)

Yes I know the name of the city is in no way original. Can someone advise the population estimate of the city? With this city I am looking at how things were when motorways were being designed and constructed.

Location: Scott Hill, Manchester, HILL COUNTY, Reagan, Commonia

Anywhere from 120,000 to roughly 300,000 would fit IMO.

Maybe 200k, give or take a couple thousand. 275k at the max, comparing it to Pittsburgh, with a population of around 300k.

I don't think you can compare it to Pittsburgh. It is clearly much lower built density than Pittsburgh, and it isn't completely built out either. Also their is a clear lack of major roads hinting that even with it's large size it's low density, especially with the suburban build of 90% of the city outside of the center. The main reason I put such variety with my numbers is I know this is Commonia, which means Manchester is either crazy dense at the center or could be really low dense downtown.

I think all the other responses have been giving populations far, far too low. To me, this city looks like a city from an undeveloped country, like India (based off the very organic street layout and its location in Commonia). Your university and hospitals lead me to believe it might be a bit more developed but still not very. This city looks to be about the same size as Agra, which has a population of 1.5 million. Of course, Agra has much more infrastructure, however, you have stated you're still laying out the major roads. I'd say the minimum population would be 750k but the more probable population is about 1.25 million. Of course, if this is not an undeveloped city, then the population would be much smaller.

@MrOobling: I remember 12-18 months ago there was a diary entry discussing the State of Reagan and how it is intentionally mapped to emulate 1960s USA infrastructure.
