OpenGeofiction

Hi everyone

Posted by RicardoNolazcoC on 10 June 2016 in English (English)

I haven't had time to edit my country and I've lost quite a lot of traction. I would like to have some feedback (as harsh as it needs to be) in order to improve the situation the territory is in. I will accept any comment, including the ones about erasing city zones or whole cities.

Thank you in advance!

My #1 advice to all new users, don't make my mistake. Build your topography and geography first. Mountains, Rivers, lakes, in a way that makes sense, and then man made stuff on top of that, in a way that makes sense. Cities by bodies of water, few motorways. I like your country. Just work out your topography.

I like some things about your country - but not others. I agree with bhj867 - but perhaps I'd go further. For a start, delete all your primary roads. Draw your rivers and lakes in detail and sketch out - doesn't matter how - a plan of your topography. Then focus on a small area and work that out - history, development, themes etc. You may want to get rid of some/most of the grid roads in Draco DC - but you might keep the names. But its up to you if you focus on building a city there or start afresh somewhere else (which is what I'd suggest!) - maybe on the coast or by a lake, developing some settlement there. After that you may find you have different plans when you come to map your capital. Whatever you do, good luck!
