Welcome to Mauruistien! (Mar-uw-ist-een)

Posted by kineticcrusher on 14 December 2017 in English (English)

Alright, so I'm a new user of Opengeofiction and I've claimed a country originally recognized as Blessia, which is an island nation which borders the nations of Justinique, Snjorland, and Ikhia.

I'm going to make a diary detailing the development I'll be making on Mauruistien.

Currently, all I've updated is a portion of coastline and all I've created is a lake, two streams, and a river. Stay tuned for info that's actually interesting!

Location: Cape Way, Blessia

Welcome to OGF!

Some thing's I'd like to state:

  1. While developing your nation make sure to pay attention to scale. Use this site to help you compare your country's features to real-world ones: http://wiki.opengeofiction.net/util/map_scale.html

  2. While taking part in the diaries is good, make sure you don't post tons of little posts in a small amount of time.

  3. If you want to show off and detail the development of your nation, A bliki or the new forums are a good place to do that.

  4. If you have any issues or problems, consult the wiki page. It contains many useful pages to help. http://wiki.opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/Portal:User_Help_and_Resources

Again, welcome and I hope you have a good time!

Heh, like I haven't seen those kind of tips a million times before. Thanks for the help nonetheless, though.

To add, the country is a temperate country, not a tropical country.

I suggest you start modifying the coastlines using JOSM and planning the forests before creating any cities.

Welcome to the eastern Ulethan neighborhood. I look forward to seeing how your country unfolds.

You say you've seen all those tips before but your lake is barely 500ft across which doesn't seem like the scale you are going for so perhaps it's worth reviewing them again?

Zhenkang, I'm aware of that (and that tip, too). Isleno picked out that land because it matched the description of a country I was keen on building (a cold-ish island).
