Weekly Word #7

Posted by Aces California on 17 July 2017 in English (English)

Hello people! So, since I won last week's Weekly Word Electricity, and do check out the other entries! It is my turn to run the Weekly Word, this lucky number 7.

A note before I reveal the word, I'm glad I participated in last week's Weekly Word since it kicked me into working even more on a project I have been putting off for quite a while, and it's looking great!

So, our new Weekly Word, inspired by last week's revealing of the new World Heritage Sites in real life, including our very own Lake District, the word this week will be...

So, take it whatever way you'd like, some natural heritage like the Lake District, buildings, entire towns or villages, heritage railways, those are just some ideas I suppose!

The deadline for entries will be Thursday 18th at 22:00 UTC. Can't wait to see your entries! The reveal of the winner may be a day or two late since I will be flying out for my holiday on Monday.

Keep up the mapping!

Edit: Here's a resource you can use for inspiration ;)

Historic city of Parka (Mallyorian: Stari grad), built between 16th and 18th century. Main heritage are old city walls and forts which are partially destroyed due to expansion of city (they're not completely mapped yet unfortunately), St. George Cathedral (Katedrala sv. Jurja) from 17th century, theater, city hall (Gradska vijećnica), art and city museum etc.

Here it is: historic city of Parka

P.S. Southeastern side of old city isn't finished yet, but since 90% of whole is finished, I decided to participate. And you can explore the rest of (unfinished) city too if you want! Good luck to everyone!

El Palatinado a group of palaces built during the maximum splendor of Pohenicia between the years 50 and 500 AD and reformed and expanded during the XVIII century. The surrounding areas will be developed coming soon.

The above is the link to a mini Karolian town in Singkangia. A place set aside by both the subsequent Ingerish and new governments taking over.

Some aspects of Karolian styles can be seen here.

This challenge reminded me of the federal heritage register of Balonis that I created some months ago.

I decided to create two new listings on the register for this week's challenge.

The first one is a small one. It's the Teatro del Amor. It was placed on the heritage register because of its typical early 1900s building style.

I also wanted to make a bigger submission. Therefore I made the Campo de Batalla Nacional "Palacio Colonial de Dordoña". It is at the site of a palace that was ruined by rebels during the war for independence. The palace served as a home of the Castellanese governor of Balonis.

Because I'm an English man in Singapore xD I'm basically Nordic :P But Singapore is so nice and developed SO much since my last visit as a child! But yeah, I wouldn't have the time to meet anybody xD Family business first, then holidays up to Malaysia, and general sight seeing.

Singapore always changes rapidly. Just go for 5 years and you'll see a lot of changes.
