International highway (Archanta)

Posted by AustinofOketia on 7 April 2019 in English (English)

Do you think it is a good idea to make a north-south international highway? We will of course need the permission from other countries to build a highway through their country, and it will be their choice where to make it go. We need to make this motorway have a realistic path (Obviously to save money). This has been done in real life before, like the pan-American highway. I feel like we should stretch North first, with Marvin, Oketia being the hub for the highway, seperating the south and north highway.

I will not do this unless it is supported. I know this is a huge project in terms of roads. I don't want to destroy the realism of countries, so it is crucial we give it the correct path and it goes through the best cities. What are your thoughts?

I do not know if this will be a good idea just because of different development stages of certain countries. However, if this voted to be a good idea my most of Archanta, then I have a decent route. Silverseas-Martin-Tragunta-Palmerston City-Millburn City- Portstown-(follows pre-built to Douglas)-Deplorine-Corona Splits into East/West (East: Commonwealth City-Corelia-Behar-Hiera) & (West: Greenstone-Koteira)-Heira-La Pampa-(Follows Pre-Built to Belmont)-Bellenance-Harpart-(Follows Pre-Built to Elaukxyx)-Galleg-(Follows Pre-Built To Malojdeh).

Hope All Goes Well, CK

Not a good idea. There are a ton of commie countries and unsafe countries. The development of the vast amount of countries is vastly different. Now if a country wants to interconnect highways then so be it. Look at I-69 in the US. The highway is being built as a port to port to reach Canada and Mexico. However, the highway has economic considerations and not a highway just to connect a continent.

It is just not safe to travel by vehicle across the continent. One would have to purchase a heck of an insurance policy to ensure one was insured. These are real world concerns that should translate to OGF.

Canada built roads that lead to the US but didn’t build one just to serve intercontinental travel.

Well it could be useful, But. You'd have to talk to 100's of users, and then you'd also need to consider building a new highway, or using the path of an existing one. Also, depending on country, It won't all be a motorway. My main Highway, Hwy 1 runs as a secondary road in small towns, Primary or trunk elsewhere. Only runs as a motorway through major cities. It would be a good idea on paper, But it would be very difficult to bring it into reality. Another concern would be, How would you hit every country? Naturally, there will only be a small portion of Archantan countries that will have access to this highway. Hitting every country would practically be impossible here.

We could of course make it track road sometimes and underdeveloped in some countries.

Honestly though, I prefer this to be a sort of a concept to see how motorways within a region in a continent are linked together. The process to this, however, can be accidental and not on purpose. I rather if one just focus on how hd can effectively connect his own motorways in his own nation. We dont need a whole continent to experiment on this.

To me, this does not seem like the best option for a variety of reasons, the most fundamental being that Oketia is far from the FSA and it seems like another Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador -esque country with third-world opinions, businesses, and quality of life that just does not fit into the FSA's interests. Plus, if anything, this highway should run through countries like Alormen, Randalia, Unesia, and Artenia. These countries seem to have a higher quality of life and need to travel into and out of the FSA freely or with borders.
