Hey OGF community!

I've been working on my territory for a while now and it would be GREAT to get some feedback. I have been using Spain for inspiration. I am starting to work on the Public transportation. I want the economy to be based around oil (because of the desert in the north part of my country), IT, and medicine. I also hope it can be a financial center in the area, but is doubtful because of the GIANT city in the territory next to mine. (Apollonium)

Anyway, I would like some feedback.

You can still make a financial centre... As much as globalization progresses, language is still a major difference between each centre. Given that Apollonium is like a Latin-speaking city (Please correct me if I'm wrong), you can still offer lots of services to Castellanese (Spanish)-speaking parts of the world. Anyways, improvements:

  • Smooth curves. Applies to everything: Roads, buildings, etc. Please please please learn to use JOSM. Ditch ID as it makes mapping less professional. (Forests, however, can stay like that)
  • Detailing all the (natural) waterfront (both river shores and coastline). (Your ports are good tho)
  • In train stations, 30m (100ft) between 2 tracks is insane. Please make tracks closer to each other.
  • Start making use of landuse=residential/commercial/industrial tags before you build more buildings.

Good luck!

Welcome to OGF! As you have requested some comments, I have some:

  1. Curves should be softer in many parts. This applies to streets, buildings, etc. However, the mountain barrier (and forest, I think) must remain as it is; and I think it is well mapped. Congratulations on that.
  2. The economic importance that your country has on the region will depend on many things such as: resources that can benefit industries, economic policies, strategic location in the region, among others. So you should consider these terms to make your country an economic power.
  3. The important thing is quality and not quantity, as I have always said. Even if you don't want to map so many buildings, you can concentrate on the details of the man-made characteristics (streets, buildings, railways ...) and the natural ones (rivers, parks and others). So you can create a realistic country with high economic potential.

Happy mapping,

Mapping Expert

@JP3SPINO You need to edit in 'blue' nations first, such as Commonia, Mecyna, et cetera.
