Ogf+YouTube

I have this question since a lot of time: Is ok to make videos of OGF in YT?

I mean videos of your own, wich are editing your own country or doing a tutorial in your own country.

Aren't you here long enough to know?

It might be legally ok, but the current consensus is: We don't want that.

Listen--it's up to you--but I believe that posting work is completely fine. I understand that others' hard work is (to be honest with you) copyrighted to them and the OGF World. But, the final decision is yours. Go post away if your heart feels that it is right. Thanks for checking in with the community, though!

There is no consensus that "we don't want that". Perhaps the majority of the loud ones think so, but that is far from "consensus". Personally, I would encourage to share your work in any legal media available.

Putting up a pseudo-official channel in the name of the OGF community is a completely different issue. That should not be done. If you share, share your work only.

The risk of course is that wide publicity could bring lots of newbies to OGF who start mapping wildly without knowing the rules and conventions. Especially if you provide a link to the original OGF location, it's good to emphasize that mapping in OGF is strictly regulated.

I have briefly thought of using instagram or smth to share my own work, but I believe it isnt necessary as of now. As for you yourself, just do it, but only your own work.

Why would users be discouraged from posting videos of their own work?
