Scale Concerns

Posted by Lithium on 8 January 2020 in English (English)

I'm making a city but I'm worried about the scale in it, is there some kind of rule of thumb I should know? I apologize this seems to have double posted and I don't know why.

Location: -46.875, 149.469

Your tertiary roads just end with no exits(not even a carpark) , that isn't realistic

The city is nowhere near finished, I just did not want to make all my buildings the wrong size.

There are two standard ways to address this. 1: use the measurement functionality in the editor to check your sizes (iD and JOSM have different ways to do this - check docs); use the OGF scale helper to compare your work with a real-world location.

Look at real cities. Use OSM or Google Earth. And yes the scale seems a bit off.
