Nice… how about adding in some more counties, and using the mountains as a divide… something like this?

Here is my proposal for Yantia District:

I assumed that more people live in the north and around the border to Gobras than in the south. Also, Artana is its own county.

Personally I feel the counties are too small. Not sure about other places but counties in the united states are usually made somewhere between 500-2000 square miles( If it was a thirty by thirty square you could reach the county seat usually near the center of the county in a day’s ride by horse, future counties I think were based more on the population at the time like in California’s super large counties). Depending on the state they can be way bigger and in some uber dense areas their smaller. I personally like the original picture better or a mix between those two pictures as some of the places that would most likely be rural seems pointless to have a county there with only 5,000 people or less even in the high density nation that is Gobrassanya. I think most counties should at least have 50,000 people TBH.

@Portopolis: Of course the size and function of a “county” is different outside the US (for example 1, 2). As you point out, based on motorway density alone, Gobrassanya will have very high population density (unlike the US) meaning that even small and rural areas would likely still be home to significant numbers of people. It also makes sense for us to match the small counties already created elsewhere in Gobrassanya.
