I’ve made a start on the city of Solsburg, the biggest conurbation I have mapped in the week since I acquired Utterland. Solsburg stands at the southern end of Lake Hetzer, and straddles the mouth of the river flowing into it. The west bank has Fort Solsburg standing proud, surrounded by the old city, still within its ancient city walls. Also contained is Solsburg Cathedral, midway between the Fort and West Burgh Museum. West Burgh used to be the palace for the rulers of Solsburgh. The modern railway passes to the south of the city walls, after crossing from the east. The old railway, now a preserved line, runs from the northern end of the city walls to Woudendijk. This line is not exactly scenic, as it now passes through an industrial estate and under the towering edifices of the West Solsburg power station.
As I start to build the eastern part of Solsburg, I hope to be able to flesh out on the area’s history - which I expect to be very interesting. Solsburg lies only 15 km south of Ligota in Szlunsk and 35 km south of Kirchenburg in Welstand-Westrijk, a border town and a garrison town. Watch this space.

Good start! Some tips from me:
try to be more consistent. Look at the size of your railway platforms - one is a lot larger than the other (btw. I think you should tag is also as area=yes ;) ). Your city grid is random, which is good as you are creating stuff in an European-styled area, but try to make the size of an area between road crossings more or less the same everywhere.
add detail! Don’t be afraid to put in some buildings, adresses, put in some street names.
railways… your railways are made of one track. It is not necessary but it’s a good practise to map each track separately - look at Shilesian rail. You can use the pararell tool in JOSM (Shift+P I belive). Also, If it’s the older part of the city then you might consider using a bridge instead of a tunnel over the river.
*highway - the lanes of your highway are too close to each other, even if you zoom in maximally you can’t see the gap between them.

Thank you for your constructive remarks. I have doubled most railway lines, and added a few streetnames to Solsburg. Also thanks for pointing out the discrepancy in sizes of railway platforms, that is one of the most difficult things to get right here on OGF. I’m not that good at JOSM (it can be quite frightening at times), although the big advantage is that a scale is provided. Incidentally, the doubling tool is the P-key.
