That’s cool. I wonder if it would be possible to include fictional language fonts in the rendering library so that they actually could appear in maps - this is a question for Thilo or joschi81 I guess… I have been thinking about developing a custom writing system for Mahhalian. Meanwhile for my Bofobundan language I just borrowed the Farsi script.

Wow, that looks great! I will dive into it later on, but I have actually been looking for something like this for ages :) Thanks a lot!

This is awesome! I agree with Luciano that it would be really great to see these languages rendered on the map.

I’ve looked into the options for creating a Khaiwoonese font but it doesn’t look easy, due to the script being so much more complex. :-(

Anyway, great work!

Yes, it looks complex… In fact, my Goytakano font is so “bold” too. But I will continue testing the site. If I got better results, I can write a tutorial, hehehe.

I took a look in fonts created by other users, and the got so detailed things… I will learn and try more…

I can’t really answer the question if it’s possible to render fictional language fonts. You’d probably have to google for an answer, or ask the OSM community. However, my guess is that the answer is “no” for anything that isn’t covered by the Unicode standard. The OSM tools are being developed for real world data, after all.

What you’d need to do is create a custom font with the various fictional alphabets at different Unicode ranges within in… And then setup the osm software to use that (which is possible). It’s then a lot of faff to use the characters, because they’re not at the normal a-z positions.

Thank you so much for the link ! I was looking for this kind of tool for so long… I created the 2 eganian alphabets 2 years ago and I was looking for a way to put them on computer.
