"Kentral Komerk Popular" - the Popular Market, in Bhagurah
Posted by BMSOUZA on 15 December 2015 in Brazilian Portuguese (Português do Brasil).Hi, friends! As someone can notice, I have spent my time trying put as much detail as possible in Bhagurah, the capital of Goytakanya.
Today I finished one project I started last week, in a effort to “revitalize” the comercial center of the city. Well, I think today the “Kentral Komerk Popular” is done.
(in Goytakano language I created, Kentral=Center, and Sentral=Central)
Looking the first way, anyone can imagine it is not so much work, but I tried to manage it the best way. Toilets are away to food shops or restaurants. Shops of fresh or “living” goods, as pet shops, florists, restaurants, seafood etc, are located in outer shops, but clothes, electronics and gift shops are in inner locations. (Exception= in central building, the restaurants are in the central open area).
I think this place as a popular marketplace, so much inspired in “Rua 25 de Março”, in São Paulo-SP, and “Rua Uruguaiana”, in Rio de Janeiro-RJ. Actually, the picture I will use in a future wiki article to Bhagurah city, was taken in “Feirinha da Madrugada”, in São Paulo-SP, where I went last year, a popular marketplace that opens AFTER midnight, hehehe.
I know Bhagurah is the center of a political conflict area, and is not exactly one touristic point, but, if some OGF-citizen is traveling by these islands, I would suggest a visit to Kentral Komerk Popular and buy some gift to friends and family!!
PS: I think about detailing more retail areas around, the economy to 120.000 inhabitants of Bhagurah would not be centered in just one marketplace… but not now… its a lot of work, hehehe!!!

I think it looks stunning! I didn’t even know there are that many different shop symbols that can be rendered, I always struggled with that ;D Will save that location for future reference for sure. One thing that came to my mind was having a shopping centre directly next to a church, as if the two are “fighting” each other for room; but I’m sure there are many examples in the real word, and it might even be a very distinct and awesome feature!

Great work on the island too… I’d tweak the airport to make it realistic - building far too close to the runway end. if you put the Yokey Klub in line with it then you’d be good.

This is amazing!

@Leowezy: I am happy you like it! About the church so close the marketplace, see KKP as a popular marketplace, not a shopping center, even because Goytakanya is a poor place. When I upload one photo I take in São Paulo-SP, maybe you and other users can see it better, because I dont know how explain it better in english, hehehe. Another thing: in Bible, was mentioned a passage about Jesus “fighting” against sellers in the entrance of the temple. So, some commerce close to churches is not so unusual through the times ;-). And even considering Bhagurah is a big city in a little space too, hehehe…
@wangi: Thanks the comment, wangi! But as I was talking to Leowezy, Bhagurah is a big city in a little space. It will be explained when I write the Bhagurah wiki article soon. The Yokey (Jockey) Club was built first, around 100 years ago or more, when Goytakanya was a prosperous island of Suvuma and the high society could spend money with horses and racings. The airport was built soooooo much years later, in the last flat site near the capital, because all of the other areas was even inhabited.The Yokey Club is exactly 600m to the runway. In the space between, there are a lot of buildings, but, as commented once in some another topic, there are real airports in the same dangerous situation, as Congonhas, in the urban area of são Paulo-SP, a place where, not so much years ago, happened an aerial accident with several fatalities. But Bhagurah is far to be a busy airport as the main ones in OGF. Really, there are only ten flights a week there, hehehe
@Thunderbird: Thank you!
Regards to all! Bruno Moreira

Thanks, Histor!! Really, I am so focused in west coast, but I need creating more things to the east coast too. Grakteh would be the second bigger city of the island, but I am away to finish it now…
