News from our glorious leader TRJ!

Despite the grave atrocities of the imperialist new mappers, resulting in the flooding of our fine world, the mighty dikes of Alfenschem, constructed under the guidance of our supreme leader, took on the wall of water with ease, protecting our grateful citizens. This feat of engineering shows once more the might of Forrintian Juche thinking, and the foresight and shining brilliance of our great leader. Our vengeance will be swift and merciless. Fire will rain down on your ill-constructed cities, cities devoid of the love of our most esteemed leader. The power of Forrintia will blossom for a thousand years.

I think I flooded Archanta. I edit the east coast and have no problems, however, whenever I edit the west coast I seem to have issues.

Speaking not just personally but from the perspective of working on the admin team, I would like to encourage users to work on fixing “floods” themselves rather than just complaining about it on the diaries - although I appreciate the approach with a sense of humor, as in this entry.

A long while ago I put together some resources that can help on coastline work here:

http://opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/OGF:Coastline_Maintenance

Remember that OGF is a community. The admins are just volunteers. The better users get at helping each other out and solving problems, the more smoothly our community can work.

I learned a great deal about the OSM system and how to use JOSM effectively by working on fixing floods - many of which were my own creations in my first months here on OGF. So I guarantee it can be an interesting and challenging learning experience.

The wiki entry, especially the coastline info map, is very helpful in identifying and tackling render problems! I wasn’t aware of this guide, thanks for the heads-up, Luciano.

The water appears to have receded by now; next time I’ll check with the wiki entry and see if I can solve it (with guidance of the great leader, of course).
