Coastlines

Posted by Bixelkoven on 3 May 2020 in English (English).

Hello, just a quick question: Why aren’t the coastlines being updated recently? I’ve been waiting 3 days to see my coastline changes but they are the same as before. I believe it’s some technical issue, and if so, when can I / we expect to see the coastlines update again? Thanks!

If we speak of this: Here I miss the update of Topo-style in zoom-level 9 to 11

Hello, JoJoBa. It doesn’t work every time, but I’ve been able to “force” the coastline to update in the past by uploading other mapping to the area. For example, if you were to upload some natural features (scree/wood/water) or landuses (residential/farmland/meadow/orchard) and some other man-made features like roads and rails, the renderer has to catch up and post the newer material. It will likely try to go back and re-render the coastline as well. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s worked for me a few times when the coastline has been stuck for days before.

Aren’t coastlines updated via a separate process ? Then likely that has a hickup. This happens more often. No worries, it will be fixed but can take some time.

Yes, I would agree with Marcello. Coastlines are generated slower than other edits, considering they are a much different class than other common features.

It’s the same with me, I think it just takes more time than other edits.
