I created two new Infoboxes for:
- Roads (means Highways, Trunks/Expressways, Primary Roads, (Secondary Roads))
- Landscapes
Infobox Road
The infobox road is usable for large connection roads, like highways, trunks/expressways and primary roads, maybe also secondary roads. For minor roads and streets in towns and other residential areas, please use the Infobox street, which offers more details for suburban areas.
In addition to infoboxes, I created some courses of highways, which aren’t finished yet. Highway 1 (Gobrassanya). The symbols on the left are the templates I created for interchanges, exits, … As they’re drawn in 5 minutes, they don’t seem like much, so maybe someone who is interested in symbols, can draw some nicer versions or add additional symbols? Resolution is 28x28px. A complete category about the symbols can be found here.
Infobox Landscape
I don’t have to say much about that, I guess. A simple infobox that shows general informations about a landscape.
Feel free to edit the infoboxes and add additional informations, if you’re aknowledged with the theme.
For first I overwatched the already existing “Infobox street”, so is there a category that shows all infoboxes? If not, there should be one, to beware of multiple infoboxes.
Order is important!
As I saw some road infoboxes are already taken for other countries, which is nice to notice. I tried to create a system for highway images, templates, … in Gobrassanya. Maybe, it would useful to make all road article namings (and numerations) in a special system.
I have the following idea of article naming:
“Highway 1 (Gobrassanya)”
“Expressway 323 (Gobrassanya)”
“Primary Road 13 (Gobrassanya)”
“Secondary Road 12 (Gobrassanya)”
…
(See the numbers of the roads just as random, the structure of the article name is important)
I think this is a good system of structuring the data in the wiki. Images of the reference numbers just get .png at the end so it is
“Highway 1 (Gobrassanya).png” or
“Highway 3 (Commonia).png” …
“Expressway 38 (Gobrassanya).png”
Images of the highway course as they’re used in my infoboxes (as seen at highway 1 infobox) could be named with “Map” at the beginning:
“Map Highway 1 (Gobrassanya).png”
What do you think about a unified naming of roads after the following scheme?
“Street-Type Number (Country)”
This system could only be used for country roads++, suburb streets have to have the city name instead of the country name in brackets.

I agree that it’s important for image names and article names follow patterns. We don’t want articles like “Highway 1” or images like “Highway1.png.”
That said, I think making detailed articles for the roads of Gobrassanya probably isn’t the greatest investment of time and effort, because these roads have changed in the past and are liable to change again in the future. Many roads in Gobrassanya have been renumbered and may be renumbered again. New roads will likely be built (shudder!) and some existing roads may be downgraded (and probably should be).
So when I see new articles like this one starting to appear, with all the exits and interchanges and everything, my first thought is “wow, that’s impressive!” but my second thought is “don’t waste your time on that!!”… because a lot of the info has changed and will continue to change. Exits will be added and deleted. Intersecting roads and highways will change. All of this meticulously collected and beautifully displayed information is likely to become more and more inaccurate over time.
I think this type of article is great if it’s set in your own private territory where you have total control of what gets built, and you’re willing and able to update all your articles as you make progress. But in a place like Gobrassanya it’s going to become inaccurate very quickly… no one is ever going to be able to keep pace with all the ongoing changes that would be necessary to keep it up to date. So I’d encourage everyone to focus on projects that don’t require tons of ongoing maintenance to stay relevant… it’s just a better investment of your time and talent.

Wow, thank you for the extensive answer!
Actually, my plan is to stop the time of change. Change is good, for cities, even for roads, but in my opinion, the highway network in Gobrassanya is quite finished. Of course some details have to be made, many nodes have to be layed, but what the wikia articles give you is more connection:
You visit the highway 1 article, … ah interesting, a link to the start city Marapura, you switch further and discover cities you haven’t heard of yet, as highways have a large influence area. They’re city near, they maybe even tell history, but they’re expensive…
My target is to give Gobrassanya some order, in cases of landscapes, highways, cities, especially climate.

Thanks for the reply. Please understand that Gobrassanya is not really an organized project, so we can’t simply “stop the time of change.” This is a blue country, where we encourage people to map without looking at the wiki or studying any of its articles. So if someone sees a connection that needs a motorway, they should build one; and if they see a motorway that isn’t necessary, they should downgrade it. In Marapura alone this stuff has changed several times in the past few months, and there’s no way we can reasonably stop it from changing further.
Not only that, but in a lot of people’s opinion, Gobrassanya has far too many motorways for its size; to detail them all in the wiki feels like an attempt to preserve them unnecessarily. And it’s likely that new users will build large new cities in some of Gobrassanya’s empty spaces, necessitating big changes to the network; while other attempted cities from the past may end up being abandoned and possibly deleted, requiring even more changes. A realistic motorway network is based on where cities exist, and in Gobrassanya that will inevitably change.
I will admit, I very much share the desire to “finish” things. But the constantly changing motorway network of a highly active and largely unbuilt blue country isn’t something we can just declare “finished” and stop further edits. You’d have much better luck finishing a city in Gobrassanya, or a whole district (and even in those cases people will still come in and “mess things up,” haha). But if you want to finalize a national motorway network in detail in the wiki, I think the ideal solution would be to make an announcement offering your services to a collaborative or private country where the motorways really are fixed and final. I’d imagine there are people who would really love to have your help with such a project.
