Question about Las Ovejas? (mainly to admins)
Posted by Ernestpkirby on 18 September 2015 in English.Did the admins ever come to a decision about the future of the city Las Ovejas in Woolonia? I noticed that like they had said originally, it looks every similar to real life L.A. and I remember talk of eliminating it off the map altogether.
I had the idea of having it be mostly abandoned and the idea of making a portion of the downtown area into a new eco friendly development, but I’m not sure, since it depends on the decisions about the city itself. I am open to the idea of its elimination (as for the actual city as it currently exists). However, i just want to make sure I understand what’s going on with it before I start working with it.

Personally I would favor retaining the city but with major work to obscure its origins. This is quite possible - JOSM offers the ability to rotate and “mirror” large selections, and those tools combined with selective deletions could make Las Ovejas its own city while keeping the work already done on it. But it would be a lot of work - and I’m not interested in taking on another project currently. So it might be more convenient to simply delete the city and “start over” with a different concept. I would say it’s your call.
The one option off the table is keeping it as-is - it is too recognizably a copy of a real city.

Okay. What I was thinking vaguely was to try and eliminate the western southern and eastern part of the loop and most of the “center city” and outer grids. But there was an area just south of what had become “downtown” that I was thinking could be reformed into a new eco-friendly modern development, surrounded by an area that was “abandoned” until the period of Woolonia’s restabilization and slowly improving.
I kind of want to keep the top part of the freeway loop just so the rest of the motorway network stays intact.
