I finally requested a territory while following the little instructions per request.
…aaaand obviously it had to be reserved. I checked just now. R.I.P.. All the other territories available are tiny and you can barely do anything with them.

If you think you can barely do anything with tiny countries, you probably have not read how to make a realistic country. Because trust me, smaller countries are easier to map realistically than large countries.
The reason why I say that is because from my personal experience, when I had a large territory as my first territory, while initially, I was like you and thought that I had a lot to do, the truth is that after a while, it feels like you are not going anywhere even if you are mapping and mapping: thus, it is easier for people to map large countries pretty badly. I know I certainly have. And from time to time, I look back at Mahikan, and the current guy mapping it seems to be mapping it unrealistically, if that ring road with a diameter of 100 km is anything to believe.
In contrast, my second territory, Kuggyong, was mapped to a greater amount of detail than Mahikan ever was, even if it wasn’t completely realistic.

Actually, make that 50 km, but it still feels a bit too unrealistic IMO, especially with the detail present there.
But yeah, the overall point still stands.

If you are a beginner, then you should probably take a tiny territory. If you map that one well, you will be able to request more, so there’s no reason to worry.

@Luziyca 50 km isn’t too much, but 100 km definitely is.

50 km for a big city, that is (8 to 10 million).

It is better to fill a little territory with much detail than to spam features with a bigger one. My territory is mediocre, so I get pretty much everything balanced in that aspects. Trust me, unless you really think you are capable of mapping big territories - go ahead!, but a smaller or a medium one is the one you should be looking for.

Nevermind lol, I found a medium sized territory that’s available. Not too big but not so small either, I have some interesting plans. Thanks for the tips, I really appreciate the help :)
