I’d like to start by wishing everyone Happy Holidays!

I (very gratefully) received a MacBook Pro today as a gift. However, I can’t help but notice how unclear and blurry OSM and OGF maps appear; it seems to have the same quality as if you were viewing them on a mobile phone.

Is there any reason and solution to this? I map all the time on my laptop and it would be unfortunate if the map quality hindered this.

The cause

EDIT: Unfortunately, I’ve discovered that its a problem with OGF / OSM themselves - their map tiles are not suited to Retina screens, so maps will appear unclear. I don’t think there is anything I can do to fix it on my part, which quite frankly sucks! I’ll just have to hope that the team at OSM will create clear Retina-compatible map tiles in the meantime, and bear with it. It’s a real shame, as the maps look horrible on an otherwise HD laptop and lessens the mapping experience for me!

I’ve been working on my country ‘Hinton’ for a while now. My work is slightly patchy and, since being moved a few months ago from a different territory, the scale of some of my towns is way off (so I’m looking to fix that).

However, what I am currently mapping is the capital city, Altbridge, a basic British/European-style city. I’m creating some embassies in a small but affluent area of it called Orbourne - I know this is a fairly typical post, but if anybody would like their embassies in the city, please let me know in the comments.

I’m a 13 year old mapper from the United Kingdom and I contribute a lot to OSM and try to on OGF too! :)

I know that asking for feedback here seems to be discouraged, but I’ve been working on a small island nation for the past few months, Las Islas Serenas, and I’d like some feedback on how my main island looks and the city of Velasco. Please tell me some things I could improve on and things features I could add!

Also, in case people are wondering why the country boundary is very big for the size of the nation, it is because I’ve just deleted a bunch of islands and I’m planning to add and work on some more.

My islands are Castellanese (Spanish to the real world) speaking, but I’m only fluent in English so I may have made some mistakes. If you spot any, let me know!
