My WIP Town , [Weirbrush] (https://opengeofiction.net/#map=15/-22.9206/18.3237) , was inspired from Childress, TX , USA because of the rail going through the center town . I Haven’t done much landscape (WIP) . I Haven’t got a town density for the eastern central perugi . Do I Need to shrink the airport? Do I Need to curve the river? Is There too little meadow? - Answer how you wish and add anything else. I totally forgot about wiki too .

*DON’T COMMENT ABOUT THE ROAD NAMES - IT HELPS ME DO MORE MAPPING *

Hi MOI N! I’d be glad to give you feedback.

Probably the biggest issue surrounding your city is the scale. Most of your blocks are around 200ft length and 150ft width (60m and 45m?), which would only be enough to hold 3 or so decent-sized houses. Your park, RV park, theatre, hotels, and golf course also seem to be on the smaller end. Oh well-everything’s bigger in Texas, right? Fixing it doesn’t seem to be much of a problem because your city is grids- just delete every other road and add them in a further-out place- the southern area looks like it could hold a lot of expansion.

Your commercial areas are very creative and original (I especially like the name “Barberians”) but there’s also things you can do to improve them:

First, put all your connected buildings into a relation by selecting one, then holding your shift key while selecting another. Then press “+” on the menu. When all the connected buildings are in a relation, you can move them further from the road, as they are in need of parking areas.

Second, click on a building and then “S” to square its corner.

Third, the parking area at “Cheapsave” is unrealistic. You can do this another way, but I suggest you turn the parking lot into two smaller ones so you don’t have curvy parking areas, as that’s very difficult to maneuver.

Finally, I suggest that you take just a little time curving the roads and rivers- you don’t have to go super-detail yet (I for one, will only super-detail my area once the rough sketch is done), but just enough that you don’t see distinct edges at zoom level 12.

Great job overall! For the future, the meadows might go on for what seems like endlessly. I’d kind of like to see a rural Texan area on OGF, with only Weirbrush and a few little villages supplying the urban population.

And also, just a little comment about the road names- lol just kidding.

Howdy! As a fellow Texan who’s been to Childress, I want to agree with others that you’ve done a nice job depicting a small high plans town that looks almost lost in an expanse of farm and rangeland. The grid may not be popular with everyone, but that’s just how all of those plains towns are laid out.

You might consider adding some roads (or more likely tracks) across the countryside, probably also in something like a grid (though not a perfect one). That will make viewers think farm and grazing land rather than wilderness when looking at your map.

My country, Castine, has a region with a high plains / west Texan climate, too. MC mentioned he wanted to see a west Texan landscape in OGF, and awhile back I actually took a wag at this around here. The three shades are natural= scrub (most vegetation, like arroyo bottomlands and hillsides with favorable drainage) landuse=farmyard (less vegetation, but still suitable for rangeland) to untagged (least vegetation, for mesa/hilltops and flatland away from even intermittent water). Im stretching the definition of landuse=farmyard to include rangeland, but when I made it natural=grassland, which renders bright green, the area looked more like Louisiana than Texas.

Anyway, curious what any interested folks think of how it turned out.

Oh geez. I imagined Castine being cool and mediterranean…

Oh well, I guess I could use a break from Alaska… (It’s still below freezing here).

I actually liked how fertile MOI N has made his land so far. There could maybe be some long, narrow stretches of different landscapes around the area, such as how Virginia has the rich Valley and Ridge in between the barren Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains, and the Piedmont to the east.

Late, yet you aren’t supposed to use real world names unless they are very widespread.
