There’s been a lot of discussion about forums and chat rooms. A lot. I have created an OGF forum to allow for a more organised method of discussion about our OGF work.
I have not created an off-topic forum, I might do in the future but after the last few days it seems best to concentrate things on mapping, cities that inspire our mapping and the wiki.
Take a look, register and we’ll see how things go.

I’m trying to register but it says my email address is invalid. It’s the same one I use for OGF, and is a valid address.

I loved the idea! A chat room can be fun (the one we tried wasn’t), but it’s hard to keep focus and have a nice conversation on one single issue. I’m a big fan of the forum structure! :)

I think this page needs more forums - there is only one regarding blue territories. I’ve done something bigger, and I’m still working on it: http://trabantemnaksiezyc.cba.pl/ogf/

I don’t think we should create multiple forums, if you have suggestions on diferent topics that the forum Myrcia created, please, post it here and we can include in the first forum!

I don’t think either. Actually I’ve been the first to create a forum but i deleted it (check the last user diary about chat) ;) . The thing is, i think Myrcia’s forum is a little bit to small.

I’m keeping things as simple as possible because there’s no point creating a huge forum with dozens of separate rooms where people are just posting and no-one is reading or replying.
As time goes on I’ll expand things if requested. At the moment I think collaborative territories can be discussed in single threads in the collaboration forum.

I don’t think that what I’ve made would be classified as a big forum, I think it’s well divided, also, it would be a bit difficult to keep track on the discussion on a collaborative country if every country is packed into one single thread ;) .

Sorry, I’ve only seen this after posting on the forum! Firstly, yes, multiplication of forums is counterproductive. Secondly, “collaboration” is much more than collaborative or blue territories. What is the actual purpose of having a forum?
Yes. Maybe you should lay out this organisation first. Work out how collaboration fits into it? For instance, should “general” be separate from “collaboration”?

Very nice! Finally something I will opt into. A forum looks like a good solution to handle the more cluttered discussions in OGF. I think it looks good the way it is too. Very easy to keep track of things, not endless categories no one uses. If there is the need for such a category in the future, it could be added very easily. I’m excited to see what great ideas this will lead to.
