Draco's international affairs

Posted by RicardoNolazcoC on 9 August 2015 in English (English)

Good morning fellow mappers,

The Republic of Draco sends an invitation to all the other countries for the establishment of foreign relations (embassies, consulates and travel policies) in order to expand its knowledge and be part of the ever more important process of globalisation. Coming up next is some background of the Nation's approach to other sovereign sates.

Since the foundation of the Republic in 1798, Draco closed its borders to any kind of international interactions, leading it to become a protectionist state isolated from the rest of the world. For the past few decades the elected leaders have acknowledged the importance of global trade and its positive impact on Draconians. Pressure in the power spheres made it possible to reform the constitution and therefore open to dialogue with other nations.

Looking at the importance of the new legislation the government has started the construction of the first international airport in the history of the Republic, a port for trade and a new system of nationwide motorways to provide easier access to every part of the territory.

The Republic of Draco awaits for the response of the community with the arms wide open.

Location: Petan City, The Republic of Draco

Freedemia is ready and willing to have positive relations with the Republic of Draco. Feel free to build a Draconian embassy in Embassy Square in Quentinsburgh. Just try to make it match the surrounding embassies. :) Feel free to build a Freedemian embassy in your capital as well. We also have a international airline (FreedemiAir) who would be glad to add a flight between Quentinsburgh and your international airport.

Oh- and Woolonia is looking for countries to trade with. It's known for sheep and goat products from cheeses to milk to meat to wool. The Republic of Draco is welcome to join WIFTA- the Woolonian International Free Trade Agreement, allowing free trade between Woolonia and other related countries, which I believe are currently Freedemia, Belphenia, and the Territory of Maydien.

There is now a Draconian Embassy in Quentinsburgh. The flight between Quentinsburgh and Draco DC is a must! :) FreedemiAir and DRC Airlines may go over their horizons (if you accept).

At the moment I'm looking for the perfect spot to place embassies of other nations in Draco DC.

Awesome!!! I have not updated the FreedemiAir page to reflect new flights in a while, but as soon as I can I will definitely include Draco DC! :)

The Kingdom of Řots is interesting in establishing bilateral relations with the Republic of Draco as well as the Woolonian Collective (although Řots does have an internal cattle and wool market, so I'm not sure if relationships will be beneficial from an economic point of view).

The Řots ambassador to Draco could be Bāvakem Rořa Irve (f); the ambassador to Woolonia could be Mōr Eliste Ipat (m).

If you agree with this, I will assign a location in Řots's residential city of Nekkar (there is no official capital, but for the last ca. 200 years, Nekkar has acted as such). Feel free to add your details to this page (or, if you prefer, send them to me in a PM so that I can add them the page myself)

And I'm not reading properly: the same applies to Freedemia too of course (and other countries that are interested) ;-) The ambassador to Freedemia could be Břotōnda Kik Gabiř (m).

Karolia would be keen to establish trade relations. We have a strong automotive, aerospace, rail and construction industry as well as coal and oil to export and a huge service sector, all of which would be great assets to an industrialising country. Our cultural exports are also known the world over.

Meridonia's main industry is banking and financial services as well as luxury property and asset dealing. The small country usually shares an embassy with the Karolians.

Rammus Rammusson, I sent you a message as well about the ambassador thing. Freedemia and Woolonia would both be interested.
