Is there something like geofiction plugin for JOSM?
I have these problems:
- it’s hard to determine proper sizes of map objects. „Templates“ would be great.
- it’s hard to draw rectangular buildings from scratch

There is a builtin area tool and a plugin that allows easier measurements.

First of all please tell us what tool you are using to draw in OGF. The usage of the standalone software JOSM is strongly recommended. And then it is pretty easy to make rectangular objects or circles. Just select the respective object(s) and press “Q” to make it rectangular or “O” to make a circle.

In JOSM the scale is always visible, so mapping in the right scale is quite easy here, once you have developed a “feeling” for sizes of objects.

Thanks for tips guys. That building drawing plugin is fantastic.
About scale: This is bigger problem, because my style is to zoom in when drawing small object and zoom out when drawing large. Is there any way how to set zoom in JOSM?

Severak - if you download the ‘measurements’ plug-in to JOSM you will see the length and area of all objects you draw. GO to : preferences>plug ins>measurement.
