Something weird is in place while trying to edit the map.

Does anybody notice the map once you go to editing is actually a satellite map of the real world? I have just noticed this but I am sure this will be fixed after the beta testing of the improved maps, which by the way is much better already by the style and looks of it.

Go to the layers button. Scroll down until you see “custom”. Then copy-paste this in: https://tile.opengeofiction.net/ogf-carto/{zoom}/{x}/{y}.png

Indeed. Remember, iD is software made by Openstreetmap. So their default background view is going to show the real world.

As @newnw said, it’s easily fixed. You can set whatever background you want in the iD editor.

I have written how to do it at the bottom of my user profile on the wiki (temporarily).
