Most organizations allow users to “join themselves.” You just add yourself to the appropriate list by editing the wiki page. The only rule is, don’t go and make yourself the new CEO or Chairman or president of whatever organization you’re adding yourself to - try to add yourself modestly and respectfully.
There are a few organizations which are regional. These, you should make sure your country is in the right region, and then contact a neighbor who has already joined to make sure it’s OK.
Whenever you’re in doubt, feel free to contact some other user who has already added their country to that organization. If you’re in doubt as to what user controls a given country, you can use the overview map.
