JOSM automatic line plugin

Posted by azaz_0913 on 20 June 2017 in English (English)

Hi everybody,

Do you know if there is a plugin for JOSM that would allow you to continue a line automatically around an already existing polygon so long as it does not encounter an existing double-point (a point that connects several lines / surfaces between them)? Instead of manually connecting each point, it would save a lot of time. Just a little question like that ... ^^

Bye, Clément

If I understood you correctly, you want to auto-follow the polygon along it's nodes? That's quite simple with JOSM: You create a line between two points of the polygon (to show JOSM the wished follow direction) and then press the "F" key multiple times until you reached the wished segment length. If you have quite a big loop of nodes to follow simply hold F pressed. Hope that helps. :)

Yes, you simply hold F while in expert mode.

But if you find yourself doing this a lot then take a look at multipolygon relations (as in you shouldn't have loads of ways sitting on top of each other).
