I’m immensely bad in Admin boundaries, too. But I had a look at some others, and noticed your level 8 seems a bit steep. Maybe try level 5 or 6 ?

have faith ! (and copy others’ better mapping ;-)

In the topo-map-style and in histor-style you see the boundary at level 13 or smaller. In standard-style I hope you had to wait only for an update. Your boundary was drawn with a circle with a seperating knot - I edited a little and make 3 peaces. Hope, it helps.

This is what I do to make town/city limits:

I make a line, shaping it as I want it to and corresponding to the other lines. Next, I tag the line as ‘administrative boundary’. Then, I put the admin level corresponding to the town/city. Lastly, to make the boundary visible, I make another boundary.

Hope it helps!

It shows just fine now, it just takes time to render sometimes.´

If you ever create another town or city next to this one, you should include the boundary in a relation as instructed here. A sIngle boundary way without relation only works as an isolated, single-level boundary, but in real world there is no such thing, because boundaries overlap and intersect on multiple levels.
