Boundary Protected Area is not rendering on OGF standard map layer orthe Histor map layer. is there a way to add this so that these boundaries will render properly. Otherwise there is no other way to designate a indian reservation. What about other boundary tiypes like National Parks, Political, etc.

Indianian / indigen reservates for me have an administrative boundary - may by admin_level = 5 or 6, if part of a province or with admin-level = 4, if with the same hierarchy-level as a province.
Protected areas can be tagged as “boundary = national_park” and “leisure = natural_reserve” and is shown at a green line.

The issue is that they do not render at far out zooms
I tried a few things but I am not sure what I will do

I definitely gave up on “boundary=protected_area”, a long time ago. I have been using tagging similar to @histor… additionally, you could experiment with multipolygon relations with various landuse tags… this could give you a lot of options for what color you wanted to show up. It doesn’t solve the “visibility at low zooms” problem though.
