Hello! I am new to GeoFiction and have a question about making rivers. In order to make the river gradually wider as it gets to the ocean, would the best option be to just make the river an area? Or would the line tool allow me to do this somehow? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You can use the tag water=riverbank to create an area around the basic line. If the river is under 30 miles long, it’s not normally necessary to draw this for more than the last few miles as the default line is about 5 scale meters wide. For ‘great’ rivers you might need to draw for a hundred miles inland to show the realistic width. Also, read up on the shape the river will take throughout its course and how the water speed affects the shape and width of curves.
