Just a small, but important question: Does the OGF earth still rotate in the same direction? I should right? I mean that would only unnecessarily complicate everything. So the sun rises in the east and goes down in the west? Thanks for answers

Yes, and you are correct, the OGF World rotates in the same direction, just like the real-life Earth.
I don’t see any other fictional worlds that have the opposite rotation about the sun rises from the west and goes down in the east, in which that can be a verisimilitude problem. To keep things realistic on OGF, the sun rises from the east and goes down to the west.

Not to directly answer your question, but isn’t the “definition” of “East,” from a cosmological perspective, “the direction the planet is turning”? Thus, unlike the Land of Oz, in fact it’s impossible for a planet to spin the other way - if it was spinning the other way, we’d put the North Pole at the other end, and then it would be spinning the right way.

This could get very complicated - no easier to think about on a Monday night! But Luciano has it exactly - east can be defined as the direction where the sun rises, so north and south are 90 degrees away from that, north right, south left. We don’t really need to think about whether other planets in our solar system spin the same way or different ways, or where their axes are in relation to rotation around the sun. And if our planet’s magnetic north and south poles are located similarly to earth’s they will be in the ocean, somewhere. That may have been important in determining historical mapping practices, national grids, etc. - but it doesn’t seem to have been decided yet. Maybe the Cyclopedians know.
