Map-based population count?

Posted by mstr on 28 November 2018 in English (English)

I made a template to count inhabitants of my country based on mapping, but it can be used by everybody:

  • add to each residential building the key "ogf:count" with the value "inh_?_" (many values between 1 and 250 inhabitants are available)

  • use the template {{Count population | area = name of the country}} in the wiki

  • more can be read in the wiki

Fine Feature! Thanks. Good for the future.

(because I draw houses for some million people - it is hard work to add this tag there)

I think this template needs to let us put any value whe want because there are some houses that has nine people, by the logic, you can just put {{ogf:habitants + specified number by the user + the rest population of a country = habitants}} that could make things easier, or just look at another templates.

So far it is not possible for me to create a template which allows every value. But I think this might be unnecessary since the idea is not to have exact statics how many people live in a building, see it rather as an average value. In a village with small houses there might live 1/3/5/7 people in each house, for the sum it does not matter that there might be houses with 2 or 6 inhabitants.
