If your relation is new, it may not be in the table yet, because it’s not updated frequently

You could use the JOSM plugin ”measurement”.
Balonis has an area of ~151000 skm. (incl. 22km ocean)

The area table is not updated often, so you probably made relations for your states before it was last updated.
