I just thought that it would be quite nice to build an island “bridge” between our “old world” and the “new world”. When you look on the map, there is half of such a bridge between ER139 and the eastern shore of Norðurland. It would be nice if this island arc would be a liiiiiittle longer, so that it might come quite close to Norðurland’s shore.
I don’t imply that those islands must belong to Norðurland or to ER139; it could also be a third, completely new country. What do you think?

Would that bridge be around 500 km long?
Seems a bit too long, maybe a ferry instead?

I didn’t mean a bridge in the sense of the word. I meant a series of islands, like the Aleutian Islands, reaching out from Alaska towards Russia.

That could look pretty good - but maybe we should work out how and when the ‘new world’ was discovered (or crossed too, or were we even discovered by them), because island hopping might make that very much easier. Easier than the discovery of America, for example. So I think a gap might be there ‘for a reason’.
Perhaps a bit off topic, but should we work out where the ice caps are (apologies if you’ve done that already EMKLI and others!). I take it there is ice at the north of your country, maybe permanent, since Norðurland goes way up North, above 80 degrees. But is there a southern ice cap too? In the south, there doesn’t seem to be anything comparable to Antarctica - or at least, not yet.

That is true.
If this new continent is going to be the new world, it makes sense therw would be a gap between it and the countries of northweast uletha.
Otherwise those countries could have jumped islands until reaching the new world.

Yeah, it was very tempting to fill that gap, but it’s there on purpose (temporarily) until the history gets figured out a bit more. For now, we wanted a gap that may or may not have been crossed in early history. Just keeping our options open for now. :-)
