I've build an airport.

Hi there. I’ve been making some little edits around Austraĉerfubo, and the most notorious one is this: Airport Airport name is Eksilita Kompasso Internacia Flughaveno (Compass of the Exiles International Airport) and it is compossed by two runways of 3km, 3 main terminals, comunication with the raiway within a station and a special area for cargo flights, with another two runways of 1.5 km. The main goal of this airport is to become one of the most important (or the most important) airport in South Harda Archipelago and the main one for the aereal comunications in Aŭstrasuno Tero.

I’m open to feedback, and I really need it. Also, I’m looking for a guide of how to map metro, massive transport, and public transport routes, anyone out there?

The airport is fabulous. The rest of the city needs more detailed streets, street names, buildings and amenities. But obviously quality > quantity and speed in here, so take your time.

As for the public transport tutorial, I’ve considered creating one and I might get into it on like, friday. Here are a few tips:

  • I don’t know how big Austracerfubo is, but in the city centre, subway and/or trams are usually the standard.

  • Create a few larger stations with connections to trains and buses.

  • Buses should run in the suburbs, but a few of them could cover inner city areas out of trams’/subway’s reach.

  • Name the stations.

  • If you use JOSM, use ‘public transport (deprecated)’ items for tagging stops and stations. The ones from ‘public transport’ don’t render (or they might do now, haven’t checked)

  • Minimal distance between stations: 350 m for trams and buses, 700 for subway and trains. (This may vary by city)

  • Tagging public transport lines is unneccessary for now, since none of the layers renders them. However, if you have drawing skills (unlike me), you can sketch them in Illustrator or something.

Hope I help a little.

Generally, your airport looks great. But it has a large problem that makes it unrealistic so far: The cargo terminal is located directly behind the end of one of the main runways. Look at other airports - there are never buildings within the axis of the runways up to a quite large distance. So I propose you relocate the cargo terminal to the north of the trunk road intersection. And one more thing: The two shorter runways in front of the cargo terminal are too close to each other and too short. Maybe you could reduce it to one runway and make that one a little longer when you replace the cargo terminal.

An one other detail: Your railways have much too sharp curves in many cases.

Happy mapping!
