Monmouth - Description & Your Thoughts

So, yeah, I'm back doing random stuff in Commonia. This place called Monmouth, to be precise. If you go to New Commonia now, you'll find Monmouth is probably one of the main settlements there. I'll go through the suburbs first, largest to smallest. Hareby is a small city / large town to the east of Monmouth Proper, and is probably about half the size of Monmouth. It lies entirely within the district, though a few of the houses are just metres from the city border with the District of Springwood, and has it's own castle and services on the M607. Parkwood (and Holton) is a small town in the / to the north of Monmouth, and is right next to the reservoir and local beauty spot. It lies entirely within the district, and is a fair way away from the border, the closest near Randen and Lleaby. It also encompasses the borough of Holton, a small-ish area in the north of the town. Mountainside is a small town / large village to the north / north east of Monmouth, and is near the intersection of the M67, M607 and M602. It lies just south of the regional park, and is near the very middle of the district, the nearest border being all the way over in Randen. Parkway is a small village / borough in the west of Monmouth, swallowed by the city. It is near the actual road called the Parkway, and can be reached easily by both inner and outer ring roads. It has two schools and a housing estate. Randen is a small village to the north-west of Monmouth, right next to the outer border. It is near the M607's NW corner, and the regional park. It is scaled horribly, but is near a farm and has a duel carriageway to both the Cape Highway in the west, and Mountainside and inevitably the M67 to the east.

Location: Fearnagh Bay Highway, Town of Redstoneville, Kingdom of New Commonia, Commonia

Huh, thanks! Also, saw you helped out by making Holton, North Parkwood. (did have to make a few minor tweaks to the houses :P)

I meant Holton in North Parkwood, I made the actual Parkwood, and the apartment block with the name North Parkwood. I'd say my favourite part of my weird mix-up of places is probably that Mountainside village near the M67/M607 intersection. And the least favourite is either Randon (TERRIBLE SCALING WARNING) or Lleaby (same problem). Hareby is turning out not too bad, and the whole place looks really urban and the urban area looks much larger than Springwood now... Also, the M606 is slightly longer now, and there's another airport.

Yeah. Springwood seems to be some size inbetween Monmouth and Hareby, Hareby being quite a noticeable amount smaller and Monmouth appears larger, though the areas that are and aren't part of the city itself are disputed (e.g. Parkwood isn't normally classed as Monmouth, but Parkway can be, and Lleaby isn't usually, and Hareby is a fair sized city nearby) Also, the M602 seems to do the job of collating all of the different suburbs and parts of cities.

Not really if you take away the suburbs/villages/towns nearby... I'd say that it's fairly similar size if Parkway, Mountainside, Parkwood & Holton, Randon, Lleaby and Hareby & Octagon were all considered not part of the actual city. But I'd say that Parkway, Parkwood, Holton and Lleaby are part of Monmouth City, and Randen and Lleaby are suburbs. Hareby is a separate 'city'/large town.

Comment from Alsatian on 21 February 2018 at 20:57 Sorry for delay, I've been creating the northern suburb of Hareby (Pearden Gate). The park is in an octagon shape.

The park. The one called 'The Octagon'. That's in an octagon shape. Therefore the area around it is called Octagon. Ugh. I've been creating a rail network, by the way. I don't know whether to go further north-east, or just continue doing details and roads, or more random suburbs in Hareby or Monmouth.

A mix of many places. I've tried to (and failed terribly to) create a sort of mini London-esque city, but it's more just a small, generic and badly scaled town/city.

I can do the subway of Monmouth if you want me to. It may take some time to finish though because my school holiday is about to end. However, the subway is much easier compared to the whole of Rhododactylia, so time will probably not interfere much, compared to school.
