Hi everyone. Where I live, school started back at the beginning of February. It’s going to be a busy year, so after nearly a year on OGF, I turned in my territory.

I thank you all for your help, feedback and advice.

However, I still enjoy mapping, so do reach out (through DM) if you would like to collaborate on something. Bear in mind that I may not be available all the time.

Also, I have good skills with Photoshop so if you need images edited to suit your countries, let me know. I especially love creating road signs if you need those too.

I forgot to mention this in my previous post, so I’d like to ask if anybody wanted to collaborate on the coastline of my soon-to-be revamped country, Basmia. I’m absolutely hopeless at coastlines and natural shapes, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Please DM me if you’re interested.

Earlier today, I cleared out my territory, Basmia, for the second time in a year (it may not have rendered yet).

My scale was out of whack and I hadn’t focused on the geographical features as much.

I’ve made a concept map showing my new plans for my country. You can see it here.

Maybe this is just a phase, but I’m not feeling as motivated as I used to be about my country, Basmia. A couple weeks ago I added some extra roads, but that felt more like something I had to do rather than wanted to do.

Honestly, I think the reason I’m feeling this way is because I’m stressing about my scale of things. Since I enjoy urban mapping more than rural or geographical, I tend to overlook rivers, coastlines and other natural features, so when I overhauled Basmia a few months back, I added some of those things based on a concept map I made, but I haven’t touched them since. When I worked on Basmia last, I realized that the Basmia River is way, way, WAY too big, and therefore out of scale. And of course, I just don’t feel motivated enough to edit it, putting it simply.

The hardest thing about OGF is getting started, because all you have is a huge, blank canvas and, in your own territory, nobody to tell you what to do. Maybe I should join a collaborative country, turn in Basmia, and start over for the second time in my OGF “career”.

If anybody owns one of these collaboratives, please let me know if you’re looking for new members.

Hi everyone,

I’ve been away from OGF for a long while due to other commitments, but I’m ready to jump back into my country, Basmia. In my tiny slivers of spare time I’ve been working on a concept map for what Basmia will look like, at least in terms of major roads. I haven’t planned out all of it, but to me that’s fine because I don’t want to plan everything out in one go (takes some of the fun out of it). The map is here. I’d appreciate some constructive feedback before I put it into Piclayer and start mapping it out for real.

I’ve been working on Basmia for a while now, but I’m not really happy with my progress and would like to start over. (However, I would like to keep my mountain range because that took a long time to make!)

I’ve sort of gone with American-style city layouts, but I think it could be a whole lot more interesting if I make it more European-looking. Everything seems a bit out of scale as well.

Does anyone know a quick and easy way (either iD or JOSM) to remove all my infrastructure (sans the mountain range)?
