I had mentioned before that I was struggling to figure out the Woolport subway system. I may have made a little progress.

Using Google drawings and trying to trace the subway tracks, understanding the slight influence from New York City, I was able to come up with this:
I don’t think everything is accurate yet, but this is my first attempt. Does it look somewhat accurate to you guys?

This is a great interpretation of it! I think it is accurate. Now we can label the stations and assign letters or numbers to the lines.
I have not been active for the past few weeks and have not been able to do as much as I would’ve liked but I do plan to work on Woolport and Centerport in the near future!

Looks good; is the subway supposed to run above ground on elevated tracks in the eastern suburbs? To me, these suburbs look a bit off, because the roads look neither organically grown over time nor planned as one big extension.I think if you change the road pattern to either a more organically grown pattern, with local centres and villages that merged over time, or into an arrangement of large grids like in Brooklyn that area would be much more realistic. Or is there a specific reason for the streets to form this “spaghetti bowl” ;)?
Because the layout of the subway will depend on the way these suburbs grew and if there are local aggregations or not.

I’m not sure, @Leowezy. I agree, the suburbs could use more work, and it really doesn’t make a lot of sense for the entire system to be underground (Quentinsburgh actually had that exact same problem at first; why the system got redrawn).
But I didn’t design Woolport originally, so I’m not sure what the original creator was trying to do. The Woolport peninsula itself seems very well done, but the rest of Ewes and such could use some work. I personally have not really been able to understand much of the road network, much less know how to fix it or have the time and ideas to fix it. That was one of the reasons I wanted to try and figure out what the subway was supposed to be- if it really was a New York-like scenario, I could almost figure that the more dense historical areas would be based around the subway because the subway would have come before the modern road system. Then I would have figured out the road improvements needed. But it seems like the subway itself would even need to be redrawn, and without JOSM I can’t even find the tracks half of the time to see where it was supposed to go in the first place.
I don’t want to take you from any of your own projects, but if you have some ideas and you’d like to, I’d love any additional help on Woolport. @BelpheniaProject has been working on the larger aspects of the nation, and @Thunderbird seems to be the main one interested in Woolport itself so far, but the country is collaborative. It may get done faster and better to have multiple people on the job!!

I as well think the Peninsula (similarly to Manhattan) looks ok from the general concept; to be honest, my advise would be to redraw all the roads in the eastern suburbs from secondary and downwards. As I said, the mapper or the collaborative should just think about the history of the place, and what growth patterns such a history would have induced; from there, figuring out the general street and subway patterns should be quite easy :)

The 10 cities are in a separate green territory that is no longer part of now collaborative Woolonia. The original user, not understanding the purpose of OGF, split the country in two wanting to find someone else to roleplay to make a civil war; one could say considering the fact the territory ended up split along that border that he indirectly got his wish. I don’t care much for it but I don’t have any control over that territory anymore.
