What to do with city...

Posted by ImmortalHawk on 1 February 2019 in English (English)

So I've been expanding my city to a decent size than before, and I was wondering if I should start doing the details. I realize that the city blocks are way smaller than regular... maybe I should fix that some time in the future. Just wondering what I should do next and what to start with...

Thanks

Not all grids needs to be the same size; the smaller can be the downtown area...

Yes, indeed. But I just need ideas on where to start, as well as what to do...

I have districts or "communities" all planned out, they're somewhat small, but comparable to the urban areas in my city

Maybe after you have developed more, you could start detailing your airport. Currently, your airport only Has a runway and taxiways.

Do not worry abour your blocks - as I se roundabout 110 * 65 m. That is, what Jane Jacobs mean: Not too long blocks (New York 60 * 240 m) for better communication between the neighborhood.

I would recommend starting with business districts and apartment buildings, so you can figure out which areas of your city have the densest population, and work from there.

Additionally, since you are right next to Duncanheim, I have a few chains of businesses that you could use for businesses in Andasonia:

DUFAB Supermarkets

Golden Cafeteria (Fast Food)

MNF Coffee (coffee shops, bit like Starbucks, doesn't have a wiki page yet)

Hope this helps!
