Pre-Word
I am 232 edits in and it has been a while since I posted a ‘trailings of a beginner’ post, but I may just rename this series to ‘update’ or ‘Legendardisch Progress’ series in the future, but for now, Trailings of a beginner will do. Last time I let you go with a view of the Central Station of Endeavour and the town of Reinoud. What has changed since then??
Endeavour
The biggest grower I think is the city of Endeavour. Just take a look

We have some parks and the city on Middel Eilandt has grown. You can also see the border of the Autonomous City Regions or Stadsdelen (Admin # 3 = state, 4 = water boards, 5 = Municipal, 6 = Autonomous City Region OR town/village etc)
So Endeavour is a city in the state of Staats-Stad in Legendardisch with 3 auto. city regions, Middel Eilandt, Haeven and Arend.
Anyway, I am planning out the harbor, its not final but a rough… sketch?

I made a overly detailed zoo (with a name inspired by Ouwehands Dierenpark)

and some other areas like
Congress and Senate (Binnenhof inspired)

A National park where you can rest, and where sometimes big open air events take place (Name inspired by the Stadsblokken of Arnhem)

A first try at a airport
And some landscaping

I have also made some tiny islands, called Vryheid, Waegeninge, Wester and Vuurwacht, which were important in a long, long time ago.

Willemsland
And my new project: A town locked on an island!

Addendum
So a lot is still a work in progress, but then again it will always be a work in progress, thats the nature of map making. I feel confident in using iD and Potlach 3, and while people advice to use JOSM, I think I now understand how relations can be made easily inside iD. JOSM again simply doesnt work for me - I asked help and nothing fixed the issues I had, but its not a big misser - I simply don’t know anything else but I do feel used to iD and Potlach 3. Next time I will continue with what I have at hand, a big metropolis and a tiny island town, they should keep me occupied for long. Ofcourse you can look at the city yourself here . See you next post.
btw
By the way, anyone know why at certain levels Endeavour’s name fades away, while some others stay, and those who stay are actually a lot bigger? Endeavour is the capital so in my mind it should be visible together with the name of my nation. Also why doesnt the state names show up yet, it did a while before?

Looks like an interesting place. It seems you figured out how to get Endeavour’s name to be more visible. As for the visibility of state names, check out OGF: Administrative Boundaries. It’s possible the boundary relation got broken, which would explain why the label ceased to be visible.
Speaking of boundaries, here are two important points:
Happy mapping!

The buildings are a bit…irregular. Most structures have mostly right-angled corners, for obvious reasons.
Look again at the railway station. Platforms should be at least 300m and 8m wide for a capital terminus, and the curve radii leading out are way too sharp.

If you mean irregular in shapes, that’s because not every European building is. If you mean something else, be more specific. about the railway station: I think the platforms are alright and offer enough capacity for the types of trains that do stand next to it - sure Amsterdam has longer platforms and these platforms I made are 35% -> 40% smaller, but in reality, where I live, platforms are giant but only a tiny portion is used mostly: The beginning of the stairs and the center. Its wide enough to serve both rails and its long enough to fit one IC. or two sprinters. Trust me on this one, walk on Amsterdam CS and everywhere near the stairs and the general center of the platform is used, only few go walk all the way to the end - only to walk back because the trains are not enormous. I don’t know what you mean with the curve radi, the bumps will be smoothed of course, but it eyes realistic enough to me.

So what I meant was the length of the platforms plus the lobby area if the station, which tends to extend to reach the start of the platforms. A big station will have at least 50m of space here for shops, tickets, offices etc.
The curve radius is just that - the radius of a corner if it were to continue into an imaginary circle. Trains can only negotiate quite gentle curves with radius of more than 200-300m even at low speed, at high speed up to 2km radius. Your tramways are fine but for express trains at this station the exit roads should be much smoother and the points more spread out.

The length of the platforms are fine imho - and so is the lobby as it is partially underground and already serves all platforms - added to that each platform has a ‘kiosk’ which means every platform has a shop on it (this is at my central station in my area), So I don’t see the issue - at all. The trains just enter a giant hall underneath it there are plenty shops already.
Exit roads, still don’t get them so I suggest you make a picture, because first you talk about tracks and then about roads.

The most southerly of the rails exits the station on a curve of radius ~130m, which is really too tight. http://opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/OGF:Making_realistic_railways#Diameter_of_curves
Likewise your airport runways are too small: 870 - 1130m http://opengeofiction.net/wiki/index.php/OGF:Making_realistic_airports#Length
