day one

Posted by PLima785 on 10 July 2019 in English (English)

hello all

Just found about this place, and decided to joint the party.

After a quick read jumped to the blue country named Commonia on the east side (, so I stared to add some rouds and a cliff, as for the name ... was random.

"Vila do Rato" is Portuguese, in English "village of mouse", the idea is to make a fishing village that during summer is a nice stop for a tourist to visit.

my real question is how can i log in in the wiki and forums this nick don't work there 😵

You need to have territory in order to obtain a wiki account, I believe.

Hi PLima785! You are off to a very promising start, and I cannot wait to see where this mapping will soon go. @andrepoiy is right, your account on the wiki does not actually exist as you do not have a territory yet. Portuguese mapping, as far as I know, might be most fitting for a territory in the Liberan Peninsula; a Latin-American Portuguese speaking country could be a better fit in the continent of Tarephia.

Once you feel ready to request a territory, (after 7 days at least), each continent is run by a different admin (shown here in OGF:Admin regions), and they each have different requirements. For instance, the admin of West Uletha, where the Liberan Peninsula is, requires you to use JOSM, while the admin of Tarephia has climate and culture rules.

Finally, the name "User Diaries" is very misleading. It is really meant for new users who do not have access to the forum yet to ask questions and get feedback, instead of giving daily updates of their work. Don't be discouraged, many users have made the same mistake and they cannot be blamed. Once you have a territory, you are encouraged to move your questions to the forum.

Hope this helps, Megacity2005Creator

Welcome to OGF! The wiki accounts are given to users who own territories to give information that appears on the map. It is important to know that OGF wiki is not the same as Wikipedia, unless what appears there is sustainable on the map.

As it was mentioned to you, the user diaries are not really to show your daily work if not more to make queries to the community (as you can do in the forum).

And finally I wish you success on your way in OGF. Remember "perseverance helps us achieve success".

The village isnt bad, develop it further by adding a few resorts, pubs and others you will see by the seaside.

Yeah, as said, you get your account on the wiki and forums only if you got your territory. Be warned though, there are many strict guidelines and rules regarding the wiki, for example not writing too much content that is irrelavent to the map, not using copyrighted content (especially for pics) on the wiki etc etc.

Once I see more progress I may invite you to the totaliterian state of Antigo. Wil give more details later.

thank you all!!

@andrepoiy I will keep that in mind.

@Megacity2005Creator Liberian Peninsula you say... well this one will be fitting, long costline near galicia and leon of this world, you see there is a 2nd language Mirandese in Portugal, its regional but helps to add a flavor.

I use JOSM but for the OSM, powerfull tool, i need to check the setting for OGF.

@Mapping Expert Yes a lot of perseverance

@zhenkang BTW Antigo mean old in Portuguese bit thanks for the tip and invite

I know Antigo means old. I didnt name that; the owner did. I am the de facto coordinator for the collaborative territory for now.
