Hey there everyone,
I have serious trouble with uploading coastline changes. It has now been 6 days since I’ve updated my coastline and removed the “San Mateo” stroke west of Trevers, and made it an island instead. Yet, everytime I open JOSM, I can see the multipolygon of the island, it all looks okay, but the OpenGeofiction map simply won’t update it.
Also, I’ve been changing the river Ansy after a correction that it’s not logical. So I made it logical. Now the path of the river is clearly visable, cutting through the land how it was before. The coastline should be changed here too. Again: JOSM shows it everytime, OGF simply won’t.
Therefor I’ve also been updating many of my suburbs with streets, buildings and more. It updates almost immediatelly and it’s correctly shown.
This is really a struggle after I’ve waiting for 6 days; I’ve been looking for breaks in the coastline, I’ve checked my relations and tags of the coastline, but it’s really hard working when my coast is not shown correctly.
So I wondered if anyone had some kind of fix or knows how this is possible. Would really help me.

I updated my coastline yesterday in Potlatch 2 and it has updated in the last hour or so on the map. I’ve noticed that coastline updates seem to be taking longer recently, not sure if that’s true or not.

It is; see Luciano’s comment in the diary entry “Broken Coastline” (17/12). Admin’s advice is to work on non-coastline-related item for the time being. On the other hand, since the changes are shown in the editing programs, it may still be possible to work on coastline-related items, but it will take some time for the changes to show on the map.
For some reason yesterday’s flooding of Uletha and Archanta was updated on the map though, and many pending changes I made on my island nation on Wyster were suddenly visible…

I think the coastline renders were all run at once, and we saw a lot of “delayed” updates finally coming through. The flooding was the result of edits that were several days old at least. I also saw a bunch of coastline edits I had done finally “appear” on the map (some over a week old).
I think Thilo is working on timing and scheduling issues with respect to coastline renders, in order to optimize server performance. Meanwhile, we will see odd results like this, sometimes. Just be patient, and don’t worry - nothing is broken - it’s more a matter of getting the right settings. Our map update needs in OGF are not exactly the same as in OSM (where our software comes from), so we will have to work to get it to work well for us without sacrificing too much server performance.
Happy mapping and …
happy new year / feliz nuevo año / 새해 복 많이 받으세요!

Yeah, I only saw my coast updates around a day and a half after I made the change.
