As the majority of you guys know. This world is extremely wealthy when compared to earth because most people want a country that is rich. Of course I felt the urge to build a United States like country since I live in the U.S, and I am sure it is the same for msot of you guys. I so far have not made any extremely wealthy countries but made two nations that likely will be middle of the road. Hoppon somewhere between China/Malaysia/Eastern Europe levels of development. Lallemand, better than most African nations but still pretty poor. I want to ask more specifically if any of you guys implement poverty into you mapping. By what I mean, extremely wealthy areas even in a high density situation are lower density (30 apartments per floor vs. 4) while poor areas are a lot higher density. This is not true across the board but can be followed in any country that isn’t the U.S.
Also as someone who is interested in criminal activity (don’t take this the wrong way), just as much as city planning. Almost every city I build have accompanying murder rates to follow. I was wondering how is criminal activity in your country. Who commits crimes? Is it poor immigrants? Is it teenagers or young adults? Or is it middle aged men (gangsters)? Is it rural people moving to an urban environment? How do gangs normally start in your country, or is there even any gangs?

Jefferson is not as rich a country as the USA, but probably around a small European country’s standards. The country is moving toward a free market system, and phasing out welfare. As a result, some residents are feeling the effects.
Patriot City has a section that has a high poverty and crime rate, basically this http://opengeofiction.net/#map=16/-29.0593/37.9697. There is some gun violence in this area because there are no gun laws in Jefferson. A significant portion of the police force in the city is centered around this area, as well as the area around http://opengeofiction.net/#map=18/-29.05113/37.99401.
As far as income and poverty are concerned, I imagine the rural areas of my country with less access to population centers as having more people below the poverty line. I haven’t mapped some of the most rural sections of my country yet, but here’s an idea of an http://opengeofiction.net/#map=16/-28.9326/37.1574 that is about 20 to 30 miles from any high paying jobs.
Jefferson maintains an open borders policy, but immigrants are not coming in from all corners of the world just to live there.
I realize this only highlights the negatives of Jefferson, but I assure you there is also wealth and prosperity. It’ll be interesting to talk about this in detail and get into the politics of it all on my future wiki posts! So far I’ve barely touched the wiki.

I understand your feelings. I haven’t done much work on this in Ardisphere, and Mahhal is still just a sketch, I have thought a lot about it in two other projects.
Of course, I made the Irhoborin refugee settlement (map). I didn’t decide statistics, but I built the area on the assumption that it was desperately poor and that some areas had extremely high crime rates (highest in the world, even).
Tárrases is a middle-tier country, but with a very wide poor-wealthy disparity. There are many very rich people in Tárrases, but also many poor recent immigrants. However, perhaps influenced by the distribution of poverty in Korea, many of the Tárrases poor live in subsidized high rise condos mixed with other income levels, so the map doesn’t show these very distinctively. On the other hand, there are also “favela” type settlements, e.g. at San Ajitófel. These latter also resemble more “traditional” poor neighborhoods in Korea (both google maps and OSM data is very poor for Korea, so if you want to surf around and see building-level detail in Korea, I recommend the Korean maps portal maps.naver.com).
Crime in Tárrases is probably fairly high - it is, after all, a bit of a free-for-all, legally speaking (a libertarian “paradise”, such as it is). Definitely some very high white collar crime rates (international bankers doing shady things), but also just lots of vice. But of course, since drugs, prostitution, etc., are all legal, this isn’t really “crime”, and lack of prohibition would discourage the presence of lower level vice-oriented gangs (cf. the three-way relation between prohibition, poverty, and gangs in e.g. Honduras or Ciudad Juárez). There would be property crimes, still, and plenty of violence among the desperately poor (and maybe drug-addictied?), but it’s hard for me to decide what that level of crime would be. Any thoughts?
This doesn’t really answer your question. I think this is interesting, though.

Tierajas-Verdes is a land of two fronts, the south is more predominantly better off (but still middle of the road economically like Eastern-Europe) but to the north with the Pavparvati, they’ve recently come off a deep oppressive government in the last 20 years, so whilst investment is on the rise there’s still deep poverty in rural areas and many slums around Parirakbe.

Due to colonization, Drevet and Wustesonne (when it became independent) experienced a high rate of hate crimes and ethnic violence. Even though political hostilities have cooled, discrimination is still a primary source of crime in the two countries.
