Tropical.

Compare to real-world Northern Vietnam, Philippines or Caribbean region.

Which means your forest will not lose leaves in the indistinct winter, but will not have conifers either. Rather, it will be diverse and teeming with thousands of species of flora and fauna all year round.

There are many coniferous forests in the tropics. I even lived near one in Mexico when I was young. I mentioned Philippines:

Oh sorry. I was only thinking about the coniferous forests you see when in the Pacific Northwest.

Thanks, I would love Mount Olympus to be surrounded by a beautiful, colourful, and flourishing forest.

I happen to be visiting my mother who lives in Far North Queensland (Australia). This is a tropical region that climatologically possibly resembles the region of Commonia that we have been discussing. I think there are good chances of "a beautiful, colourful flourishing forest."

Here is a picture I took some years ago a few km from here.

Hold on, a ski resort? That doesn't seem very realistic for a tropical area...

Did you know that there is something called winter? And that there is also artificial snow that does not melt? Oh yeah, there are also things called snow blankets? And also, Mt. Olympus's elevation is about 10,000 meters? Yes, mhm. You should come see Canada, if you dont already live there. In the summer, it can reach 35 degrees (C) and where I live, it can drop to -45 degrees (C) in the winter.

Considering your location, you are not going to have -45 degrees Celsius winters- look at Luciano's map. Also, I find it hard to believe that Mt. Olympus which is relatively coastal is over a thousand meters taller than Mount Everest. Considering all this artificial snow is also not a reasonable solution, given that it is expensive and with almost no natural snow the price would just be too high to be realistic. Megacity2005Creator is right, the ski resort is not realistic.

However, there are other things that you can do there, such as making a hiking base with some trails and vistas.

Best Wishes, Infrarrojo

@TheIlluminiix Mt. Everest, the tallest peak on Earth, is approximately 8,000 meters.

Artificial snow? Commonia is very poor, good luck. Don't make things too futuristic.

can someone just let me and my ski resort be??? I should have never started this diary entry if it was going to be such a big deal. Commonia is a free editing country, I can make a ski resort if I want to. I can make a huge mountain if I want to. You can't stop me.

Sure, Commonia is a blue country, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make it realistic.

Sure you can draw a lot of unrealistic stuff. And write like a child in your diary. The question is - can we then see you as an earnest mapper? And "You can't stop me" ? It may be a surprise for you, if one of the admins will stop you.

Is there a way to block certain users so that their posts don't show up in your UD feed?

I'm...asking for a friend.
