Help please (natural features)

Posted by TheMapper27 on 2 November 2018 in French (Fran├žais)

Hello everyone,

I am planning on making a mountain range with rivers, peaks and forest. It's some stuff at a very professional stage (high-end JOSM). Since I do not have JOSM nor do I have access to it, I ask help today from you, my OGF people, to pleasw help me.

P.S. I see that my diary entry response rate (D.E.R.R.) is pretty low (about 2-5 replies), but I am serious. I do need help.

Yours, TheMapper27 (btw this name is cringe)

Location: West Bay, Pogreenia

@TheMapper27, the diary is almost a misnomer, you don't write in it everyday. Anyway, I recommend using curves in mountain ranges and rivers.

@TheLegend27 you're not on here so others can map your territory, we all have our own projects. If you truly are in any way interested in geofiction, you could start drawing your territory by hand on paper now and later, when you're old enough to have an own computer, you can trace that into JOSM.

@stjur I'm not dead (in OGF). I'm actually somewhat active in Gobrassanya but I plan to go back to my country in the next few months.

If so, you shouldnt depend on others to map your terriotry when you are not free. This shows you are not so committed to your own nation, or depending others to caretake your nation.

I suggest you relinquish your territory.

I don't have JOSM (i use iD and I'm on tablet) and you should know that you can begin by doing other things in your country, I mean, something that you ca do well.

For example, as I don't have JOSM, I asked for a small country so I could map it the way is easier for me.

Your best bet for large scale things like that without having access to JOSM would probably be Potlatch 2, not iD. It lets you edit at a zoom of 14 and higher vs iD being more zoomed in, so you have at least a bit more to work with. Freedemia's much smaller than it used to be now, but other than early help from admins very early on almost all of the large scale stuff was me working in Potlatch 2 and chugging along. It's not as easy as it would be in JOSM but if JOSM isn't an option for you, Potlatch 2 is really the most reasonable option for large scale.
