Maintenance downtime

Posted by admin on 19 April 2017 in English (English).

OGF will be offline for maintenance on Saturday, April 22, starting at 12:00 pm UTC, for several hours (at least 4, probably).

Is it maintenance for both maps and wiki, or either?

Comment from thilo on 19 April 2017 at 23:18

Both.

When, for heavens sake, is 12pm?

0000? 1200? 2400?

Comment from trabantemnaksiezyc on 20 April 2017 at 09:12

Can I please ask for using 24-hour clock as well?

Comment from ilikemaps on 20 April 2017 at 11:12

I think it is 12:00h

Comment from ilikemaps on 20 April 2017 at 11:12

Midday

Comment from mstr on 20 April 2017 at 14:56

Thank you for the soon announcement!

Comment from thilo on 20 April 2017 at 18:42

12 pm means, by convention, noon. 12:00 pm UTC = 14:00 CEST.

Comment from ATMunn on 22 April 2017 at 18:29

Now that it’s back, I can’t seem to see the map… Everywhere I look is just gray.

Comment from stjur on 22 April 2017 at 19:18

Same. And wiki’s not working.

Comment from ATMunn on 22 April 2017 at 19:20

JOSM also doesn’t work.

Comment from thilo on 22 April 2017 at 19:59

Please try again and let me know if it works now.

The map should be visible now, but is not updating at the moment.

Comment from ATMunn on 22 April 2017 at 20:00

Yep, I can see it now. Thanks!

Comment from mstr on 22 April 2017 at 23:07

Thilo, thank you for your maintenance service!

I cannot download anything with JOSM from the server (upload works fine).

Hey, i see we use a new version now with included routing :)

As i just noticed while trying to update my routing data: The http://opengeofiction.net/backup/ is unreachable and you have to manually prefix it with the www subdomain, it doesn’t work with api subdomain.

The /backup/ contains NO REPLICATION, which is maybe important to other data consumers and the reason why there will be no update of the Routing and Nominatim.

I manually generate a new routing file based on the ogf_latest.osm.pbf, but that takes some time (The existing stuff got deleted because i executed my script prematurely [i never assumed the update could fail, will change that sometime…]).

Kind Regards

Martin

Thanks to Thilo and the admin team for the update! I can see some of the new things in the mapping and wiki software already, but I’d love to know what some of the new ‘bells and whistles’ are available to us now when someone has the time.

All the best,

Alessa

Thanks to everyone involved. I’m grateful for the time and effort put in, not only, for this update but the work behind the scenes of the entire OFG project, it’s very much appreciated.
