I found an old map where the area now occupied by Vinnmark, Welsrik and others; is named as Bayland. I’ve also found some info about Bayland in this page List of countries by economic statistics
I want to know as much as possible about that former country.

Bayland had no story. It remained empty for many months.

Bayland was inactive for a long time, so it was removed from OGF and the territory was divided up into the countries you see now. As far as present OGF history is concerned, it never existed.
I tried to remove all references to Bayland from the Wiki (with the admins’ permission), but I’ve obviously missed some. I have now removed it from the countries by economic statistics page.

It could be interesting if we had a ‘dead country’ section on the wiki. Some interesting things might turn up.
By the way, does anyone happen to know anything about UL070, formerly Tibrin? What I know is found in the behind the scenes section on my Glaster wiki page. This also contains details about what inspired me to come up with content for Glaster.

@YuanIs - I like your “behind the scenes” concept, but I’d like to make a suggestion.
We have a kind of “unofficial rule” at this point that material in wiki articles should be strictly “in world.” For “out of character” and “meta” discussions, we have three areas where we can post.
First, each and every page can have a “Talk:” section, if you create one. Some Talk: sections can turn into major portals for discussions such as your “behind the scenes” idea. One example is my Ardisphere collaboration portal.
The second place for “out of character” discussion can be the various OGF: namespace pages. These are for more general talk, technical help, advice, etc.
Lastly, of course we all have our User: namespaces. As you may know, these can turn into entire mini wikis of their own, including “sandbox” work, comments, biographical information about us, the users, even a blog (e.g. my “bliki”).
If we’re going to have a record of “dead countries” maybe there should be a page like “OGF:Former Countries” or something. By the way, there is no requirement that a user be admin to create OGF: namespace pages. If you think it would be interesting or useful to the community, anyone is free to create one.
