I have been working on the Midistland Canal today. I would like for it to be a canal similar to Panama. Midistland is in a strategic part of Uletha and I would like to emphasize that with a large shipping canal through the country. There is already a large lake in place in Midistland to support such a canal. I would like to add service roads, rails, locks, and small and large cities to support the canal. Everyone is welcome to get involved.

We had a Shipping Canal made in Midistland, or at least we were discussing it, back when I was working on it way back. I do swear there was already a shipping canal unless it was deleted later on.

One question about canals: how wide should a canal be so every kinds of ships can pass through? The Midistland Canal is between 500-1000 ft wide; is 500 ft not to small?

To clear this - look in real world: Suez-Canal / Panana-Canal. And look, how long are great container-ships (nearly 400 m). So long has to be your locks at the canal.
The question is - what sort of ships shall use your canal.

The canal is 48 miles (77.1km) long. If a ship had to travel down and around the southern tip of South America they would have to travel 20,000km. The locks are 110 feet wide and 1050 feet long. Ships that are wider or longer than this cannot use the Panama Canal.

It makes sense from a strategic point of view. But where would the large ocean going tankers be going to, via a Midistland Canal?

If it reaches the bay north of Akinyaka, Hoppon would most likely ship tons of goods from ports in Marie City and Nobunaga
