I want to thank all of the mappers who put in work at the Pretanic Faction state over the past year or so. Due to unforseen circumstances, the PFS will be closed to new mappers as of today. Any mappers that are working there are allowed to finish their work, make a decision to move their work to their own countries or keep it in place. It will remain there forever if you decide to keep it there, and I will add to it over time, but keep your edits in place.

If anyone has any questions please comment below and I will answer them in the best way I can.

Hello, I am the owner of the Pretanic Faction State south of Pretany, a former shire of the main country. The country is a Theonomic Unitary militarized dictatorship with little to no human rights. There is a sacrificial religion called “Cuppa” that has taken over the kingdom and removed the Catholic Church there from power and all of the residents are required to worship the god of cuppa and it’s practices. Not everyone adheres to that policy though.

I am fixing this. I don’t know who did it. But I am going to make this look like a much nicer city. This is TRUNK ROAD OVERLOAD. No No No No No No No. Wont delete anything, but a simple change in road type will make this look like a much more appealing location. As a senior editor I am making an executive decision on this one. Just for the sake of visual appeal of the overall map.

I don’t know how to revert it and I’m NOT happy.

Jada Island has sunk. Im not sure how to fix it. It has something to do with the new update.

I noticed the node feature on the map today. I added one in Vinnmark, which should be a useful tool to let other mappers know what your doing and what can be fixed. Particularly in the blue countries.

I think we should make this a thing

The more I try to make a proper train station, the more frustrated I get. I cant seem to get the spacing correct on the rails enterong and exiting the yards. This is the 4th rebuild of this station and Im about to pull my hair out. Lol any ideas? It’s been a process of “Squeeze tighter, add a platform, repeat” but it still has too many spaces between the rails.

Taking a break from Opengeofiction to study for my CDL licence. I just got a new job and have to devote all of my energy into prepping for the testing I have to do. I also have a broken laptop screen which hinders me at the moment from doing much of anything on the computer. Will be back soon. Happy mapping guys.

Is it collaberative now? I would like for it not to become the Northwest Ulethan version of Midistland. There needs to be STRUCTURED mapping there now while it is relatively empty.

My new project are the ruins of Geradic.

Geradic is a ruined city located at the mouth of the Sunada River. It was considered the most southern and one of the largest of the galician cultured cities in the nortian pretanic zone of the contested Northeast Wall border region between Pretany and Galicia in the mid 18th century. The city was heavily populated with nearly 16000 people by 1750. The city was completely destroyed by a pretanic insurgency after it was occupied by the galician army in 1818. The massacre lead to 3000 deaths and promptly ended the war between the two countries. An agreement was made to draw a permanent border at the current Northeast Wall where it has remained. The city of Northeast Wall although always a one of the nortian Gurmes of Pretany, then known as Urbe Septentrionali, and it’s population explosion in the 19th century is considered a direct consequence of the destruction of Geradic when most of the population flooded 10 miles east into the city as refugees.

I made a couple of contour maps and emailed them to the Admins. One for St. Richards, and one for the Westward Gate Plateau. I have been having problems with the contouring. I feel like I have not added steep enough hills. with only 100 meter hills outside the city. I started out at 310 meters by the river to 400 meters at Beglideres Castle. This is my first time doing this and I am a little confused.

EDIT. I just figured out what I need to do. I have to place (10) contour lines between each 100 meter line on the map. That is going to take A LOT of time. will see what I can do :) Trying to not flood the admins inbox with “updated contour maps”. Being American and thinking in imperial units doesn’t help matters.

I have been working on the Midistland Canal today. I would like for it to be a canal similar to Panama. Midistland is in a strategic part of Uletha and I would like to emphasize that with a large shipping canal through the country. There is already a large lake in place in Midistland to support such a canal. I would like to add service roads, rails, locks, and small and large cities to support the canal. Everyone is welcome to get involved.

I missed any conference that was done with OGF due to my location in the United States and lack of funds. But I would love to make a video blog about Pretany, and would love to see if others can do the same. Possibly put the video on the Wiki, or paste a link to it on this diary entry through Youtube or twitter. I think it would be a great way to explain each country verbally, and tell a little about the creators themselves. In the video, you would explain your country, your place in OGF, how you fit into the world, and tell a little about yourself. Also if you are tech savvy, add screenshots of your country into the video as you are speaking. Maybe make the video anywhere from 5-10 minutes long.

I was fascinated by the story of the Catacombs of Paris and how they came to be. There was once a cemetery in Paris known as the Cemetery of the Innocents that I plan to recreate an OGF version of in St. Richards. It was so full of bodies that they didn’t fully decompose and they used large fat deposits for soap. That got me thinking of an organized plague that could have ravaged our world at one time and how that could have effected our histories. I would like some input on this from other members to see what they think. It could be one plague, or a series of them. How would it have affected the population of the planet, and to what extent? I am normally not a bragger, but I don’t care this time. No shame. Damn am I proud of the beginning stages of that barrier island. I never could get my small coastline along the sound the way I wanted it. Now It’s coming together. I plan on really urbanizing the barrier islands between Brugge and Port Welsh over time. I wish there was an easier method for street placement. Im not a fan of the grid tool for European cities.
