Here is my country :

I’m slowly creating the background of this country. It is currently composed of a few former independant states that met hundreds of years ago, influenced by Sathrian history. People are mostly native from this country, there are sathrian people and between 5 and 10% of nomad people that have partly settled. The country has its own language that I’m slowly inventing too, mostly from Greek, then Latin and Slavic words.
I’m looking for a good name for my country. I want it to have an etymology that fits with the country’s history. I have several ideas, and I need help to make names from these groups of words :

“Trayadasi (an) not” (southland/way to the south = People from easthern Uletha were passing by this region to go to Tarephia for commerce)

“Panes Ka’lini” or “Scanda Ka’lini” (region of the great lake)

“Kapanes ligoi” (united great regions)
Maybe you have other ideas.. With this work, I could start making wiki page about the country.

If you will mix greek, latin and slavic words, why do you not give the names in Esperanto? Si I know, are free wordbooks in the net.

I never thought about it :) I could try with Ido which I know a bit better about.
Most of the country’s and cities’ names were different at the biggening, closer to what they were meaning than today because the names evolve with time. Example : Lugdunum (dark hill) -> Lyon Nikaia (victorious) -> Nice Estland -> Estonia
I wanted to know how to make the name of my country and other places with the words that define them. Or maybe it’s better to use Greek words as it is the origin of the words. If I use greek words :
dromo noto
Inoménes periochés
megáli límni
Update :
I thought about a good name for the country last night, which is Egani, meaning Great lake, it fits with the country’s geography. Egani in Eganian, Egania in Ingerish, Eganie in Frenchish… It could be also the name of the main former state that was the greatest of this region.
Do you think it’s okay ?

Egani is good. I rather liked Kapanes Ligoi too.

Also the country can have different names, Egani is international, Kapanes ligoi could be a less common or older name. I think I’ll keep Egani.
